WHAT DO THE INITIALS MEAN?

When you see initials after our Professional Designers names, it means that they have taken the necessary steps to obtain certification levels within the Kitchen and Bath Remodeling industry.  This means that you can feel confident in working with our certified professionals because they have proven knowledge, experience and expertise.

The requirements for the NKBA’s (National Kitchen & Bath Association) professional design certification are:

CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer)

  • Minimum of 7 years kitchen/bath design experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of formal design education or 60 hours of NKBA professional development programming
  • Passed a rigorous 2-part exam on academic knowledge and practical skills

The requirements for the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders)

CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist)

The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) certification ensures that our professional designers have the knowledge to design and build aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments for home modifications for aging in place.  A CAPS Specialist can help anyone remain in one’s home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age.

The requirements for the PRO (Professional Remodelers of Ohio) professional design certification are:

CPS (Certified Professional Specialist)

The CPS certification is given to professional designers who specialize in the layout, design and remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms as their primary business. The CPS designation will allow homeowners to identify contractors who do extensive work in kitchen and bath remodeling, and have gone the extra mile to improve themselves and their company’s capabilities in these areas.

Betty, I can’t thank you enough for your help in design and execution from thousands of miles away. I love the kitchen…now if I can learn to cook!
